Foreign Friends is a Beechworth-based label from sisters Leila and Crystal with friend Juliette, making honest, varietally expressive High Country wines since 2023. This 'Hilma' Barbera draws on King Valley fruit grown by the Cavicchiolo family at 350m, fermented on skins in concrete then aged in large-format old oak. Each label honours a visionary woman; here, Swedish abstract pioneer Hilma af Klint.

Tasting notes

Chocolate and clove spice on the nose turning earthy as it opens; soft and velvety palate of blueberry, brambleberry and raspberry with a long finish, umami tones and very fine tannins.
