ABOUT

Unique single-vineyard wines CRaFTed by Candice Helbig and Frewin Ries. They specialise in small-batch wines. Using fruit sourced from a handful of blocks in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Each wine is made from grapes picked from a single vineyard, and every bottle becomes an honest reflection of that one specific location, an untarnished sample of soil and season. Oh, and by the way - it's pronounced 'craft'.

This wine started its journey on 12th March 2020 when the grapes were handpicked. Next 50% of the grapes were whole bunch pressed to tank. The remaining fruit underwent skin contact for 3 days prior to pressing. Both batches were then blended for wild fermentation on full solids. Fermentation was cool and slow in stainless steel.

Partway through fermentation, about 15% was transferred to an older neutral Barrique French Oak barrel for fermentation, followed by a time on the lees. In total 10 weeks in oak to build texture and complexity without picking up the oak flavour. Some light lees stirring in tank and oak, with partial malo-lactic fermentation. Bottled in June 2020. 190 dozen produced. Vegan friendly.
