ABOUT
Jean Luc Longeres is one of the founders of Terra Vitis. He owns a five-hectare domaine in Beaujolais and one day his daughter will take over the estate. Longère recently planted two hectares of Chardonnay to produce more white wine—something of a specialty here. His holdings are located in the commune of Pérreon, whose steeply sloping pink granite hills number among the finest terroirs in the Beaujolais-Villages appellation. Dedicated vineyard work, much of it performed by hand, delivers grapes that are judiciously vinified, with partial destemming, gentle extraction and deftly judged élevage. Given the domaine’s small size, most of the production is sold direct to consumers who visit the small tasting room, so we are thrilled to be able to offer this wine at Bishop’s Cellar.
