Cornerstone Stores, Tugun

Make a day of it: our home at Cornerstone Stores

If you’ve only ever ducked in for a wedge of comté and a bottle on the way home, you’re missing half the story.

Quince has lived inside Cornerstone Stores since we opened our doors in 2018 — a collection of little shops gathered around a courtyard on the Gold Coast Highway at Tugun, directly across the road from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s the kind of place that rewards a slow lap, so here’s how we’d spend a morning in our own backyard.

Start with coffee. Stable, the café on the courtyard, opens early — grab a table outside and watch the precinct wake up. Breakfast there is very much part of the ritual.

Then wander. Kind Curations for a browse you didn’t know you needed. Locavore Byron, the butcher, for something for tonight’s table (their counter and our cheese room were made for each other). The Upside for activewear, and Lost Boys if you’re due a trim. Upstairs you’ll find The Body Method for wellness and Nuve Escapes if you’re planning a proper stay.

Finish at ours. By now it’s a respectable hour for the fromagerie. Come say hello, taste something new, and let us build you a platter for the afternoon — or a hamper for someone you like enough to share with.

One car park, one courtyard, a whole morning sorted. That’s the quiet genius of Cornerstone — and why we’re so happy to call it home.
