SUBROSA - PYRENEES NEBBIOLO 2017
Hand-picked fruit from the Malakoff Estate. Matured for 16 months in French oak.
Authentically pale in colour, the bouquet offers aromas of cherry, floral perfume, liquorice and woody spice. A just medium-weight palate, quite supple in texture although edged with fine, savoury tannin, the flavours mostly in a slightly tart red berry vein, persisting though the finish. - Halliday Wine Companion 94 points

ORIGIN Pyrenees Ranges, Victoria, Australia
To the north-east of the Grampians wine growing region is the Pyrenees mountain range where our friends the John family have their Malakoff Estate vineyard. Adam sources Nebbiolo grapes for SubRosa, which grow surrounded by the Estate’s eucalyptus trees.
The Pyrenees wine region is renowned for high quality red wines.
Aussie expats, Adam Louder and Nancy Panter, met under the Californian sun and got to know each other over a decent glass of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Adam Louder was an up and coming winemaker with a thirst for knowledge. Nancy Panter was a corporate communications whizz, talented at creating great experiences that delighted people.
In 2015, after 19 years working in vineyards and wineries over 28 harvests in five regions and three continents, Adam launched SubRosa with Nancy in his ruggedly beautiful home region, the Grampians, in Victoria.
Sub rosa is a Latin term meaning ‘in secret’ but Adam and Nancy want everyone to share their love of great wine and food. The secret’s out and you’re in on it – lucky you.
